CITY OF HOUTEN
The municipality of Houten asked JC Kromme Rijn (JKKR) to think of an art project to be constructed at and between the two roundabouts at the entrances and exits of the A27 highway. The city council supports the JKKR amongst others by providing a start up capital, the selection of an artist, and giving the necessary permits. The artwork will be a gift from JCI to the city of Houten, after which the city will be responsible for
maintanace
to it.

JUNIOR CHAMBER KROMME RIJN
A special 'UFO' committee has been working for years on the realisation of this artwork. This committee has meetings with governmental organisations such as the city council, provincial board, the Road and Traffic authority, companies like Vermeer Infrastructure and Lumineus for the construction of the artwork.

Next to these, many other companies have been contacted to gain sponsors for the project. Companies in Houten, but also outside, have given their (financial) support to this unique project. Also the Mondriaan Foundation, and the Fund for Arts Society are supporting this project financially. Thanks to these contributions, the whole necessary funding has been raised! Do you wish to contribute? Please contact any member of our UFO committee.

TIME SCHEDULE
All permits are in, the time schedule for now is that start of construction will be in June 2003, the official opening and completion of the project will be in September 2003. More information can be found in the 'press releases' section.
